Furthermore to our discussion on Weds... The pics are looking OK but I feel what it would need to get a bit better is a macro function on your camera (still can't believe it doesn't have one... look for the tulip!) and more lighting. I find two lamps with day light bulbs works well with one positioned above the model and one above the camera pointing in the face of the model. Also good old sunshine works a treat too, good luck on finding some!
